After two tapes (listen) Agen 53 from Verden had their first vinyl debut on the essential Keine Experiemte II compilation 1984 via weird system on which they impressed me with two outstanding pieces besides other famous German bands. Formed by Todde (vocals), Amok (guitars), Goldi (bass) and Michi (drums) they made 1987 this little sunshine on their own label 53 Records with four tracks and 500 copies were pressed, followed by the 12” Fortschritt a year later without 53. Musically rather not so hard which is due to the bright guitar and the very melodic style of the band (although the EP has a bit more steam). Textually, they describe political as well as personal topics intellectually with detailed words, I like words that make me think and anarchy & beer can wrote everyone. In my opinion totally underrated band that deserves more attention and I can only urge you to get their few slabs. Check also my Smash BRD selfmade compilation with more rare German punk goodies.
