Album number 7 and the first in 12 years by these punk rock legends is truly fantastic from start to finish.
There is something incredibly special about ‘Hypercaffium Spazzinate’ ; it’s just so damn catchy. As always Milo’s lyrical perfection shines through with oodles of honesty and humour based on what one only presumes is a narrative of his life.
Descendents feel like they have matured slightly with songs like “Without Love” and “Smile” They have embraced adulthood with a complete lack of earnestness and their music still offers a pure sense of nostalgia reminiscent of care free times.
Songs like “On Paper” and “No Fat Burger” offer fantastic witticisms of growing old and embracing what life brings to you.
As always the musicianship is fantastic; Karl Alvarez lead bass lines are utterly killer and sit perfectly with Stephen Egerton’s fantastic guitar tone and melody and Bill Stevenson’s driving drum beats.
The perfect album for long summer road trips with your friends and loved ones.
