Yesterday I went to Tert’s house (a friend of mine), there was some of my gay friends in there, a group we call The Bataclã. We were drinking tea and talking about boys, so Daqui came up with a invitation to a party in other place… to make a long story short, in the party Jaloo have come to my knowledge, and I must say that I’m simply astonished about the music this guy makes.
Jaloo blends a lot of influences, some quite known as Bjork and Grimes, and other quite regional, known only for Brazilians as ”Technobrega” and other Brazilian folk culture. Jaloo was born in the north of Brazil a place where people still bear the features of the native people who lived here, so his indigenous features are very defined, what makes him beautiful in a very particular way. His videos are aesthetically interesting, his voice is soft like a dark feather, and his song is culturally meaningful.
