Pedro The Lion – Phoenix

31

Imagine the world free of all the utter shit that the pop industry vomits into the masses ears, mouth and eyes.

Now imagine an all inspiring uprising of vocal lushness brought on by Mark Lanegan, Tom Petty and Dan Andriano; that’s a world I would love to live in! This is a world that ‘Pedro The Lion’ already lives within and embraces full-heartedly.

Front man Dave Bazan has a haunting and soulful voice that makes you sit up and listen to his dream-like storytelling. I could equally imagine these lovingly crafted stories being told round a roaring campfire with an acoustic guitar as I could in a stadium with a full live band.

‘Phoenix’ mixing ambient atmospheric folk , with grungy melodic Indie Rock without missing a beat, this is the kinda record that you will find yourself spinning over and over again.
