Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury suffered against Anderlecht in a Europa League quarterfinal match played on Thursday, April 20.

The Swede landed badly on his right leg as he attempted to win a header in the match at Old Trafford, with Anthony Martial replacing him.

The Red Devils went on to qualify for the last four with 3-2 win on aggregate.

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in all competitions for Man. United this season.

This includes his stunner against Leicester City in the Community Shield on August 7, 2016 at the Wembley Stadium in England.

On July 1, 2016, Zlatan signed as a free agent for Manchester United on a one-year contract, with his weekly salary estimated at £200,000.

However, his appearance against Anderlecht is likely to be his last game under Jose Mourinho as the striker’s contract will end in June.

Manchester United’s final games in the 2016/17 season include trips to Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham as well as Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-final.
